Penn State Nittany Lions Football Ticket Information

Ticket information for games involving the Penn State Nittany Lions Football team

Here are some of Joe Paterno’s comments from his weekly press conference today:

Q. What is the status of D’Anton Lynn and Stephfon Green for this week?
COACH PATERNO: Well, Green is back with us. Green, I’m trying to get him in a little pattern of lifestyle as far as going to class, being attentive to some of the responsibilities he has. He’s responded most of the time. Once in a while he slips a little bit. But he’s back with us. He’s worked with the second and third offensive teams. Today we’ll work with him and the rest of the week. So he’s okay.

It’s Time For Matt McGloin To Start

by David on September 28, 2011

With the Big Ten part of Penn State‘s schedule starting this weekend, it is time for Joe Paterno to stop this rotating quarterback system and name Rob Bolden has starter.

Penn State’s offense and quarterback play has been below expectations this season and that it because of the indecision of JoePa and the coaches.

Against Eastern Michigan last week, McGloin came on in the second quarter, completed 14 of 17 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Rob Bolden by comparison struggled as he went Bolden went 7 of 13 for 115 yards one TD and one INT. 71 of the yards came on a short pass that speedster Devon Smith converted into a touchdown. Bolden was yet again unable to gather any sort of rhythm in the two QB system.

The anticipation for the 2011 Nittany Lion football season continues to build, with Penn State students purchasing more than 21,000 season tickets recently to again fill what has been recognized as the nation’s best student section.

Penn State’s loud and proud student section is the nation’s largest full season student ticket section of any school, for any sport. ESPN The Magazine tabbed Penn State football as “The Nation’s No. 1 Student section” in 2008, among numerous national media accolades.

It’s been long overdue, but Penn State and Pitt will meet for a home-and-home series beginning in September 2016 at Heinz Field.

Tim Curley, Penn State Director of Athletics, and Steve Pederson, Pitt Director of Athletics, made the announcement today that the long-time rivals are scheduled to meet September 10, 2016 in Pittsburgh and September 16, 2017 in Beaver Stadium.

“We are very excited about renewing our rivalry with Pitt,” Curley stated. “We have worked our schedules to play some of our neighboring rivalries like Syracuse, Rutgers and Temple and are glad to have identified dates that worked for our schedules to play Pitt. The Penn State-Pitt game was one that football fans across the Commonwealth have been passionate about. There have been many memorable Penn State-Pitt games, featuring outstanding players and coaches, and we look forward to playing the Panthers again. ”

In a surprise, Penn State’s Whitehouse game against Alabama on September 10, will not be played in prime time.

The Big Ten Conference on Thursday announced its schedule of 2011 games that will be played in prime-time in September and October and will be shown on ESPN or ABC and Penn State v Alabama is not on the list.

Instead, ESPN will carry in prime time the Michigan-Notre Dame game, which will be the first-ever night game in Michigan Stadium.

Still I expect the Nittany Lions-Crimson Tide game to be nationally televised, but with a 3:30 p.m. kick off instead of 8.

Penn State v Georgia?

by David on December 22, 2010

Georgia is trying to schedule future non-conference football games against Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Notre Dame, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said.

“We’d love to do a home-and-home with a Big Ten or Midwestern school that has a rich tradition,” McGarity told the Dawgs247 website. “We’re going to work as hard as we can to make that happen. Hopefully, within the next year, we’ll be able to have something in writing.”

McGarity added that any series would begin “way down the road.” Dawgs247 reported that 2015 would be the earliest that such games could be played, because Georgia is committed to other “high-profile” non-conference games through 2014.
